Anime: Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season: Kataomoi

This is almost like a bridging episode from the 1st season to the 2nd season. It serves as a pretty good recap for the 1st season from Kurumi’s point of view and eases us into the 2nd season of Kimi ni Todoke. It wasn’t bad, perhaps because it’s been awhile since I’ve watched the first season and also because Kurumi is my favourite character. Hers is a love that went unrequited, a pretty girl who planned and schemed and still everything didn’t go accordingly. It’s a good depiction of life, how the things we plan for never really happen and yet there are things that didn’t happen that allow us to keep going anyway.

The art is has the same watercolourly feel, the music is soft and pretty and the scenes are as flowery as ever. With this episode or should I call it a special (?) I’m looking forward to more happenings in the 2nd season.
