Day 21 – Favourite book from your childhood

Books from my childhood consisted of a lot of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys as well as the Babysitters Club. Throw in some classics like The Railway Children, Little Women and Anne of Green Gables and you’d have a pretty good idea about the sort of books I read when I was young. However, I absolutely loved fairy tales and there was this particular compilation that was very dear to my heart. It contained a range of stories (a lot of which haven’t been animated by Disney yet) and I really enjoyed both the stories as well as the illustrations. I can’t remember the exact title right now, but when I find the book I’ll update with a picture.

So that is my favourite book and the story that captivated me the most was Twelve Dancing Princesses. I don’t why I like it so much, but I just do. It’s a whimsical story about the princesses who wore out their shoes every night and the King wanted to find out why. And so whoever was able to find out would be able to choose a princess to marry. I wish they’d make it a Disney film. It’d be a dream come true for me.

Boxcar Children, Encyclopedia Brown. Anything adventure. I guess I read more “boy books.”
